This painting has a story, all its own:
The cardinal, in this case, the golden breasted cardinal, is said to show up at times that you are thinking of your loved ones. My Mother, Pearl, passed 32 years ago at a very young age. She LOVED Christmas and brought that Joy to all of us who were present.
This year, both our children were married, and yes that cardinal presented herself many times at my kitchen window this year. I miss her so! It was suggested that I paint a cardinal this year for our Christmas card. I have named the painting ”Winter Pearl” in her memory and she will be looking over all of us and bringing that Joy once again into our home.
